Umrah after Hair Transplant  

A Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves transplanting hair follicles from one area of the body (usually the back of the scalp of the head) to the balding area of the head. It is a cosmetic procedure that aims to restore hair growth.

Is it permissible to perform Umrah after hair transplant

Yes, it is permissible to perform Umrah after undergoing a hair transplant. The act of undergoing a hair transplant does not invalidate and restrict ones ability to perform Umrah.  There are no specific Islamic restrictions or prohibitions related to hair transplant.

It is very essential that you have fully healed and recovered from the hair transplant surgery before undertaking any physical exertion or rituals that are involved in Umrah. The healing process varies from person to person, but typically it takes several weeks for the scalp to heal and transplanted hair follicles to settle down. It is advisable to consult your hair transplant surgeon or Dermatology professional that they will ensure you the proper timing of performing the Umrah after Hair transplant and access your individual case and provide proper guidance based on your specific circumstances.

It is very important that you will comfortably perform all the rituals of Umrah. Umrah includes one of the last and important rituals i.e. Halq or Qasr which means shaving the head or trimming the hair. For that purpose, if your hair transplant surgeon instructs you to not do the Halq i.e. shaving the head, in that case you can do the Qasr i.e. trimming the hair by some inches or you can also cut your hair.

There are some more post-operative care instructions provided by your hair transplant surgeon. Such as avoiding excessive sweating and avoiding the scalp to direct sunlight for a certain period. However, you have to do the lot of physical exertions while performing Umrah such as Tawaf of the Kaaba and Sai (Walking seven times between the two mounts i.e. from Safa to Marwa and Marwa to Safa), that will lead you to the excessive sweating and also the direct contact with the sunlight.

So, our recommendation is to perform Umrah in winter in the month of December and January because the temperature in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains Normal in these two months as compared to the other months.
