Benefits of Hajj and Umrah

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and it is an obligatory for every Muslim who is physically and financially capable and has to perform it at least once in a lifetime. Hajj is the “major pilgrimage“to Makah while as Umrah is the “mini pilgrimage” and it is a voluntary act and can be done throughout the year. They provide an opportunity to every Muslim to strengthen their relationship with Allah (Subhanhu WA Ta’ala) seeks forgiveness of the sins, increases spiritual growth. They hold a numerous benefits and rewards for every Muslim. Here are some of the benefits of performing Hajj & Umrah:

1. The Guest of Allah (Subhanhu WA Ta’ala)

Whoever performs Hajj and Umrah are becomes the Guests of Allah (Subhanhu WA Ta’ala) and are under the care of him, Allah (Subhanhu WA Ta’ala) accepts all your prayers with the righteous intentions and bless you with abundant rewards.
The hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah R.A. that the Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H said, there are three guests of Allah (Subhanhu WA Ta’ala) the first is The Ghazi (the soldier who fights in Jihad) the second is The Hajji (the pilgrim who performs the Hajj) and the third is The Muta’mir (the pilgrim who performs the Umrah ).

2. Forgiveness of all the Sins and the reward of accepted HAJJ is Paradise

The Pilgrimage after completing all the rites and rituals of Hajj and Umrah and also seeking forgiveness and repenting, it is believed that the almighty Allah will eradicate all the sins from their entire life.
The companion Abu Hurairah R.A. narrated that the Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H said, performing Umrah is the remission of sins that has been committed and the reward of Hajj Mabrur (The one which is accepted by Allah Subhanhu WA Ta’ala) is nothing except the Paradise.

3. Elimination of Poverty

Another benefit of Hajj and Umrah is that the poverty will be eradicated. Allah (Subhanhu WA Ta’ala) gifts wealth to the pilgrims to recompense for the money they have spent on this spiritual journey of Hajj and Umrah.
The hadith narrated by Ibn Abas R.A. that the Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H said, that “Perform Hajj and Umrah successively for they remove the poverty and sins just as fire removes the impurities of Iron”.

4. Reward is equal as performing Jihad

Jihad is assuredly the struggle that one can perform in Islam. The reward of Hajj and Umrah is equivalent to observing Jihad for the sake of Allah (Allah Subhanhu WA Ta’ala).
Narrated by Aisha R.A. that the Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H said, “Whoever leaves his home purely for the purpose of Hajj or Umrah and he dies, nothing will be presented to him nor will have any liability on the day of resurrection (Qiyamah) and it will be said to him, to enter into the Paradise“

5. Unity and Equality

Hajj and Umrah is a gathering of Muslims from all the corners of the world, irrespective of the nationality, race or social status. All the Pilgrims wear the same dress and Call upon The one Lord and following the path of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. All of these experiences promote the universal brotherhood and sisterhood in Islam.
